1966 Olivetti Studio 44 Serial # 667431 1966 Olivetti Studio 44 typewriter, Serial # 667431 Plante and Doole-Fisher Typewriters's 1966 Olivetti Studio 44 typewriter. 2019-03-20 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Plante and Doole-Fisher Typewriters: 1966 Olivetti Studio 44 Serial # 667431 This Olivetti-Underwood Studio 44 was found in the house of a passed individual in the old quarter of town. I am most likely the 2nd owner of this typewriter. I even picked it up in the house of which it's address is taped to the cover of this typewriter. The gentleman's house was being renovated for sale after his passing, and they found this machine in the loft. Someone knew I collected and acquired typewriters, so they got in touch. The machine was quite gummy when I first received and it stank of mold so it took some elbow grease to get this monster back up to par. However, after I heavily cleaned the machine, case and dust cover, it jumped back to life, and was surprisingly pleasant to type on. However, I have never been an Olivetti person and even though this typewriter really made me try to like it, I am afraid that in the end it just didn't meet my expectations in being a regular go-to machine. However, aside from my personal opinions, this typewriter is in very nice mechanical and aesthetic condition and has lots of life left in it.
