Description:
This Smith-Corona Corsair re-branded typewriter was manufactured in England according to the tag on the back, although information about this re-brand is limited. It also seems to have been sold as a Canadian equivalent, and therefor some confusion arises. These mid-century Smith-Corona ultra-portables in many ways do resemble the larger equivalents that were available at that same time. Mechanically sound, basic but functional with some attempt to cosmetic appeal.
This example is in fine working order but did require some mechanical attention as the carriage-advance mechanism in relation to key-action was off. That, however, has been sorted.
Although a pleasant work-horse and physically appealing, I will destine this machine for resale and hope to make an avid beginner happy with this acquisition.
