1965 Smith Corona Sterling Serial # 5AX 372075 1965 Smith Corona Sterling typewriter, Serial # 5AX 372075 Amanda Wood's 1965 Smith Corona Sterling typewriter. 2023-08-13 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Amanda Wood: 1965 Smith Corona Sterling Serial # 5AX 372075 Found at a consignment store. Looked to be in gorgeous condition and moved well on minimal testing, but I have no use for another AX Sterling at this time (I have two already). Will possibly go back to get it when price drops, as my brother was fascinated by mine.

Went back to see if it had dropped in price and found it clearanced for $10. HAD to take it. This thing is in gorgeous condition, though I have no need for another blue Sterling of this body style. Sincerely hoping to rehome it with family, but will find it the right home wherever that may be.

Gifted to my brother on August 13, 2023.
He said he couldn't remember the last time he was this excited over a gift. Will be used for thank-you notes for work as well as personal enjoyment. Was a little overwhelmed with all the features but we'll get him caught up in time :) So glad to find a new home for this typewriter that sat unwanted in a consignment shop for half a year.

First typewriter bought in 6/2023, now at over 30 in my collection with most recorded in the galleries. There's a special place in my heart for Smith-Coronas, blue typewriters, and typewriters from 1964 (my parents' birth year). Prefer manuals to electrics, portables to ultra portables or desktops, but will head home with anything if it's cheap enough and functional/repairable. I've successfully gifted typewriters to two siblings, a best friend, and an in-law. Keeping up with my lifelong tradition of making and repairing by hand. When not typing or working on a typewriter, I'm often reading, gardening (vegetable), preserving harvests (canning, dehydrating, freezing), knitting, sewing, writing letters/short stories, or shooting film photography. I like the slow, analog life.
