1965 Royal Custom Serial # CM 6375233 1965 Royal Custom typewriter, Serial # CM 6375233 tom hitt's 1965 Royal Custom typewriter. 2017-02-05 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of tom hitt: 1965 Royal Custom Serial # CM 6375233 My son found this one at a flea market in 2014, just as I was beginning to collect typewriters. He got it for $20 as I recall. The only adjustment needed is that the backspace doesn't engage properly. There is a little issue with the shift alignment as you can see in the type specimen.

Note that the serial number prefix is CM (not CU).

I always thought the soap dish front was unusual, but it definitely screams 60s/70s, putting it right in my wheelhouse. I was in 7th grade when this blue beauty rolled off the line. Alas, my wife demured when I suggested we do a photo shoot with it, her in a paisley mini skirt and me in tye dye. ~T~

Retired school teacher, now busy cooking and writing. Typewriters fascinate me, I'm mostly interested in Portables from the 50's-70's.
