Description:
Typed on a slip of paper taped to the inside of the case: âPLEASE SAVE THIS RECEIPT--June 25, 1966 $119.28â. Man, they had good Scotch tape back then! Script font at 11 cpi.
At one of those charity fundraiser yard sales. It was not there the previous day, but I happened to be going past and thought âWhat the heck. Why not check again?â and a worker called out across the yard, âHey! Typewriter Man! Somebody dropped these off this morning...â The other being an electronic one without a manual.
Script, eh? Ribbon's a little wonky, though.

While I find all of mankind's inventions interesting, I am most enchanted by the human-scale arts and devices, the ones that can be created (and repaired) in a home workshop or studio; the ones that can be understood by looking at them; the ones that do something useful or stir admiration. Typewriters work for me.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM9 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM9 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
