Description:
This is the one that started it all. I got this SM-9 from my mother who got it from a garage sale back in the 70's. She used it all throughout middle and high school along with a Royal 200. It wasn't until September 2014 that I started paying attention to it and my collection started.
I love these Olympias. The touch is very solid and sure and you can tell it was meant for serious writing. For me, these will always be the best.

College age collector from New Jersey. Struggling to keep my collection under 30 machines. Started with this hobby back in 2014 when I was a freshman in high school, and it has led me all across the spectrum of machine repair from telephones to tape machines. I always end up coming back to typewriters though, can't keep me from returning to my roots.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM9 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM9 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
