Description:
This cute little Hermes Rocket came to me as someone else's discovery upon the passing of a relative. It seems the gentleman in question collected typewriters and really did store them in a barn! This machine had to have the margin stop mechanism replaced as the original margin stop mechanism was not present when I brought it. Since parts for the Hermes line are scarce, we had to come up with a solution involving several trips to the hardware store, as well as some vigorous debate with several bystanders who were amazed to see a typewriter, and who had fun helping us come up with a solution that would work.

Iâve been collecting typewriters since 2019. I started with a Remington 5 Streamliner that I found in a local junk shop and from there, my love for these machines grew and grew. I now have far too many typewriters in my collection, assuming that you think there is such a thing.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Rocket on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Rocket By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
