1965 Hermes 3000 Serial # 3327669 1965 Hermes 3000 typewriter, Serial # 3327669 Stephen Hanafin's 1965 Hermes 3000 typewriter. 2022-02-21 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Stephen Hanafin: 1965 Hermes 3000 Serial # 3327669 I picked this well-used first-generation Hermes 3000 from a Facebook Marketplace seller on 2022-02-21. It was a two hour roundtrip, but I think it was worth it for the deal I got. The machine required some minor repairs, which I was able to complete, and it came with its lid, which is not pictured here. I've been after one of these machines with the green keys for a long time, but they've always shot out of my price range in the past. I'm very happy with it now, and it will probably mean that I will be selling the 1970s one with international keyboard that's already in my collection.

Typeface is small pica - 11 CPI. Slugs are marked S 6.

Repairs done:
* Threaded ribbon correctly - it was getting hung up due to being incorrectly run through the vibrator
* Reattached rear panel to carriage. It was entirely loose, missing two screws.
* Freed paper rest that was stuck in closed position due to old self-adhesive foamy stuff that turned into glue over the years
* Formed paper rest fingers to make them somewhat closer to level with each other
