Description:
Not really a Sterling anymore, this late 5 series machine has the guts of a Silent-Super with some new (unwelcomed) plastic pieces replacing the original metal ones. Seriously, who's the genius that decided the mainspring housing, of all things, should be plastic? Once the plastic starts to get brittle and degrade we'll have a problem, but I think I've got a few decades before I need to worry about that.
Margin issues aside, excellent performer through and through, although not quite as nice as the '50s machines.
Fixed, and sold!
