Description:
Is it a portable or is it an ultra-portable? A hybrid because of the lack of a separate case. Too bad they didn't put a solid rim around the machine and some proper feet; then a nice Olympia quality case.
This one was dropped, and the back of the bottom bent up. Someone hammered the heck out of the base to straighten it out. The left side carriage/rear panel mount was broken off and rattling around in the machine. I used it to sort of attach the two pieces and screwed it down. It works. Considering it was dropped, it is otherwise, in great shape.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to anyone area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes 3000 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes 3000 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
