Description:
Plastic shell on a solid machine. I like the dramatic centered logo though the bird looks like a German motif from WWII. One of my favorite typers but noisy with its rock hard platen . As I've noted on an Adler J5 model, the carriage arm throws 2" before engagement begins, compared to half an inch on a Smith-Corona.

Get to work!
I am a retired graphic artist and I began collecting typewriters in 2021. I like machines from the 50s and 60s. Other interests include music, film making, fly fishing and tinkering with classic VWs.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Adler J3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Adler Serial Number page and the Adler J3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
