Description:
This was a salvage run. I just tried to get as much as I could for this heavily damaged typewriter. I only paid a pittance for it, and I was well aware it didnĀ“t work, so it was time to repair it.
And fortunately it works... More or less. ItĀ“s missing quite a lot of pieces after seemingly someone had dropped it really hard, and apart from the external damage something inside the machine is not working right. The carriage advances erratically, and it jams from time to time. Yes, it works, but it canĀ“t be used normally for now. I hope IĀ“ll fully restore it someday.
Fortunately, thereĀ“s potential here. When it types it looks pretty stable and fast, so it deserves some attention after all. And most importantly, it has found a new home and itĀ“s been rescued from being discarded for good.

The first typewriter I saw was my grandpa´s Olivetti Linea 98 at the office. It was just a curio for me. Then I was given a Nakajima, which I didn´t use and my grandfather took it from me because it was easier to handle than the bulky Linea 98. Now I own that typewriter, and I started a little collection in Valladolid, Spain. The Nakajima, which is "my" typewriter only returned home in 2017, almost 20 years later, when he wanted a better typewriter.
A collection that started small grew into something bigger, a nuisace for my family and a great source of satisfaction for me.
