Description:
This was my first Hermes 3000 machine, perfectly restored to working order by a very generous member of the online typewriter community. It's Techno Pica typeface has a fun retro-futuristic quality about it.
It's true what they say, nothing "feels" quite like a Hermes, and it's the reason I came to own two other machines (one in regular pica, and one in Epoca).

I have been fascinated by the clockwork construction of typewriters since I was a child. I'd play with one at my dad's office in Manhattan on the days he'd take me to work. Decades later, I've rediscovered them and have fallen into the hobby of acquiring a modest collection.
I use typewriters mostly for leisure, but I do find that creative writing on a typewriter takes on a different flavor of its own. I also have found a great deal of pleasure in using these machines as a means of crafting expressive art.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes 3000 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes 3000 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
