Description:
A 1962 Royalite Companion - my third typewriter that was sold to Dylan in October, 2025. Bought from a lady from NY. It came pretty dirty in its leather case and needed to be blown out and cleaned out. The bell did not work and bearings were rolling around in the body from the carriage. Got that stuff taken care of and covered the platen with some heat shrink I had. A bit of a stiff typer that was not a pleasure to touch-type on with my untrained hands, but perfect for heavy handed students who like to practice percussive therapy. Eventually one of those students wanted to buy it, so I sold it to him with the agreement that if he ever changed his mind or wanted to sell it I would buy it back for the price paid.

I am a high school teacher with a new-found love of typewriters! Have owned 7, but am down to 6 after selling a Royal Companion.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal Companion on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal Companion By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
