Description:
This VisOmatic was found on Etsy, but picked up at an antique store in the northside of Chicago.
It is the R C Allen "M[nt Green" color that changes with the light. It has the patented R C Allen "Margin Set" feature that's like the Royal "Magic Margin", but maybe better.
It is a great typer, and really built to last.
It was originally purchased from Allen Business Machines Inc. , 5843 West North Ave, Chicago, 39, Ill. Phone - National 2-7242 --- the yellowed sticker was still on the machine!
Under the typebasket cover was still a tag with the factory model, specification, and color code designations

I am a decorative painter/artist, and do historic restoration of older homes, and theatres. Growing up in New Jersey, i took typing in 8th grade, and at the time hated it. I've since lived in Chicago, Minneapolis. and now a small town in rural SW Wisconsin.
My hobbies are collecting and restoring old phonographs, sewing machines, kitchen appliances, clocks and radios, vintage office equipment, and of course typewriters. I love vintage mechanical gadgets. At this point in my life, I am developing my writing skills, and have started on old typewriter short stories.
