Description:
Having owned an SM9 a little while ago, I wasn't in a hurry to buy another late-model Olympia but this SM7 came up for sale locally and I couldn't resist. My goodness. Talk about chalk and cheese. I finally get what all the late SM series fuss is about. My SM9 must've been a "meh" example. This SM7 is a "Oooo" example. Slick, fast, and accurate. It's up there with my Facit TP1 in terms of performance only it has a much more muted sound than the TP1. I'm loving it and this is going to be a keeper. The dimpled facia, for me, gives it a prettier appearance than the "plain" versions of this latter series. It’s one of those machines you want to keep writing another sentence with. There's a lot of typewriter in a fairly small package here.

Relatively new to the hobby - My first machine was an Everest Mod 90 that I bought after watching a Violet Evergarden anime in December 2021.
My collection now consists of 41 machines.
My absolute favourite remains (just) my 1939 Royal KMM. For me, it's both the prettiest and the "warmest" to type on. It has "Majik" (with a nod to Sandy1)
I count my blessings that I am lucky enough to have amassed such a beautiful bunch.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM7 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM7 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
