Description:
Nickname: "Turtle"
Named for the original owner Richard who was a Naval Aviator and flew F-8 Crusaders during Vietnam under the call sign "Turtle". This typewriter was purchased new and taken to college at Georgia Tech and then later to San Diego during a posting at NAS Miramar and the famous Top Gun school. By all accounts the typewriter saw regular use into the 1980's before being supplanted by computer technology. Sold to me by the original owner's son after his passing in 2019. Classic Hermes action with a buttery feel. The Techno Pica typeface is clean and legible.
Aviator "Turtle" took amazing care of this typewriter for all those many years and typewriter "Turtle" can definitely go for another 65 years. This machine provided its owner many years of faithful service and its owner gave many years of faithful service to all of us.

Metastatic cancer fighter and sudden cardiac arrest survivor who has gotten into vintage typewriter collecting after realizing that life is short and typewriters are fascinating.
