Description:
My third Hermes 3000 was found last Sunday in the usual used junk market near Milan where I often got good deals for little money. This specimen was, as usual, very dirty and with some minor mechanical problems but with a good cleaning and an easy mechanical restoration it is now in good condition and fully functional. Strange fact, Italian keyboard with the "1" key.....

I have been an Italian typewriter collector for many many years. At that time, I loved very old typewriters from late 1800s to early 1900s. After a break of a few years I returned to collect typewriters but no longer so old, I prefer now the design of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Yes, I am an affectionate collector of Olivetti, of course, but I'm attracted to all the other brands from that period, not just Italian.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes 3000 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes 3000 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
