Description:
This is the first Japy-made portable with a tabulator that I've encountered. The gear in the back is connected to a tabulator brake that spins around and prevents the carriage from moving at full speed. The lever to the left of the paper table moves backwards or forwards to tilt the tabulator rack, setting and clearing tab stops. This sytem works very well. Several keys on this machine were degraded; I replaced them with keys from an AMC parts machine and two Royals.
