Description:
From an advertisement in The Seattle Times, 8/27/1962:
Lowest price ever on a brand new portable typewriter. The Admiral is a solidly built lightweight portable, with features not found on portables twice its price. Three color ribbon (sic) . . . Dejam key . . . twin margins and many other features. Comes complete with de luxe zipper carrying case, and five year manufacturers warrantee (sic) . Remember, this is not a toy, this is a well built, smooth typing machine, and an exceptional value. Reg. $64.50. Now $39.95 + F.E.T.
And, yes, the dealer said it was NOT A TOY.
Sold after discovering I hated using it.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Admiral Portable on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Admiral Serial Number page and the Admiral Portable By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
