Description:
This machine was in very good condition when I acquired it. The finish was clean and bright, with some wear at the spacebar corners, as expected. The internal components were all clean, straight, and showed careful use.
This was a well loved machine, and still is!
It is also my second machine with a cursive typeface. The first being a 1962 Torpedo 18b.
NOTE: While my type sample photo says 1962, the machine is actually a 1961 model. I goofed...

A relative beginner to this hobby, but eager to learn. I have but a few machines so far. Acquiring them as I find units that interest me. I seem drawn to those made between the 30s and 50s, though that doesn't limit me...
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM4 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM4 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
