Description:
Got this from a mother who kept it around to amuse the kids and when they grew out of it she sold it to me; what does that say about me? Had to re-anchor several transverse bars inside; repair vibrator, carriage motion, Shift Lock key, some linkages at the back. Still have to fix the sporadic paper injector (bet the kids had fun with that!).
Yes, that's a Tytell service sticker.

While I find all of mankind's inventions interesting, I am most enchanted by the human-scale arts and devices, the ones that can be created (and repaired) in a home workshop or studio; the ones that can be understood by looking at them; the ones that do something useful or stir admiration. Typewriters work for me.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SG1 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SG1 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
