Description:
Grungy but in good shape. Experienced a few firsts with this machine: Found an ancient wad of bubble gum on its underside (which I chipped off with the handle of a wire brush), ribbon spools that are tightened into place and a case with its own key.
You should've seen the look on my face when, pre-purchase, I tested the key and locked the case with typewriter inside, then couldn't get the key to work. The antique mall owner and I shared a nervous moment before the case finally popped open.

Spotted a Royal KMG at a thrift store one day and it became a surprising source of inspiration.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Studio 44 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Studio 44 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
