Description:
This is one sleek and elegant looking ultraportable. It’s one of the most snazzy looking machines I have. The finish is an elegant glossy gray and black combination. I picked up this unit on eBay and it needed a good cleaning and some tuning. The downside is the typeface quality which results in shadowy, faint vertical lines near the printed characters as shown in the typeface specimen. Not sure what’s causing this and I have thoroughly cleaned the slugs. In any event, it’s a handsome and snappy little beauty.

I grew up with a fascination and deep appreciation for mechanical business machines. Mid-century typewriters, cash registers and adding machines. To appreciate the magic of these devices and the synergy of gears, springs and levers working together in perfect harmony is quite beautiful and an understated marvel of engineering and quality workmanship that has produced products that work exactly as intended for decades and even a century after they were produced. This is something that doesn’t exist in today’s world. My small collection (currently 14) consists of mainly portables, ultra-portables and a few Smith Corona 6 series electrics, which I use for amateur writing projects.
