1961 Antares Domus Serial # 082708 1961 Antares Domus typewriter, Serial # 082708 Massimo Martelancz's 1961 Antares Domus typewriter. 2024-04-09 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Massimo Martelancz: 1961 Antares Domus Serial # 082708 On the instruction booklet the manufacturer states "E' pronta in armoniose combinazioni di colore" (It is ready in harmonious color combinations)." The Antares Domus (or D60) typewriter, produced in the early 1960s, were not a great mechanical quality typewriter, but it has a sturdy aluminum body, wood two tone case, and different combinations of two color tones for the bodywork. Maybe not always so "harmonious" but, related to this specimen, an amazing and beautiful original pink/white two tone combination, never seen before. Also interesting is the "Lettera" font, seen only on some first series Olivetti Lettera 22.

I have been an Italian typewriter collector for many many years. At that time, I loved very old typewriters from late 1800s to early 1900s. After a break of a few years I returned to collect typewriters but no longer so old, I prefer now the design of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Yes, I am an affectionate collector of Olivetti, of course, but I'm attracted to all the other brands from that period, not just Italian.
