Description:
This is a 1956 Sears Tower Tabulator manual typewriter, made by Smith Corona for Sears. I picked it up for $10, and am the 2nd owner. It's a little stained on the backside, but in otherwise perfect operating condition.
The keys are very responsive, and really don't need a lot of effort to strike. While I'm not overly fond of the color, it really is a wonderful machine and tough as nails, as is typical of Smith Corona products. It came with the original case, and has the original key.

I'm Crystal. I am a newspaper-published writer, Novelist-in-progress, blogger, former Behavior Specialist, and an Ordained Minister. I absolutely love typewriters, and am growing a small collection. I have raised five sons to adulthood, and yet, I can't keep potted plants alive more than a month. My husband and I spend way too much time together, but that's okay.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Tower Tabulator on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Tower Serial Number page and the Tower Tabulator By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
