1960 Torpedo Dynacord S Serial # 2003231 1960 Torpedo Dynacord S typewriter, Serial # 2003231 Kevin Stallaert's 1960 Torpedo Dynacord S typewriter. 2024-05-11 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Kevin Stallaert: 1960 Torpedo Dynacord S Serial # 2003231 After I saw a Torpedo Dynamic S on a German auction site (and lost the bidding war for it), I went looking for one of these Blue Whales like a mad captain Ahab. These machines are quite rare apparently. So far I've spotted a first generation in Germany (local pick up only), a second generation in the Netherlands and this machine in France. With the help of a Typewriter Discord member, this machine made it safely to Belgium. It's a true beast, littered with bureaucratic battle scars, and full of gunk when I got her. But Gloria lives once again. The machine is so big I'm unable to properly fit it on my white background (a big sheet of A1 width paper)

15-nov-2023: shipped to the USA to a buddy of mine, to be used as a parts machine.

I fell into the typewriter rabbit hole due to nostalgia: I used to have a massive Olympia SG1 when I was a kid. It formed my typing habits, which is why I am called a "furious typer" by my coworkers. Came across the r/typewriters page on Reddit which rekindled my love for these wonderful machines. Lets just hope I don't start pushing screens off my desk when I reach the end of a line...

I also have a modest Youtube channel where I document the progress of my typewriter journey: https://www.youtube.com/@Slug_Life

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Torpedo Dynacord S on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Torpedo Serial Number page and the Torpedo Dynacord S By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
