Description:
While I was happy with my portable Courier, I wanted an ultra-portable which could be carried in a bag whilst traveling. Picked this troublemaker up at an antique store where honestly this was the only typewriter that was in a decent working condition. As most Splendid 33's, there was an issue with the ribbon lift not rising up completely due to which capital letters would have their heads chopped off. An adjustment had to be made to the screw that would loosen or tighten the lever holding the ribbon lift lever but this was rusted and stuck. It took almost 2 years to find someone who could fix the machine for me and restore it to its intended glory.
Note: Serial number can be found under the carriage on the right hand side,

I'm a young(er) typewriter nut who doggedly pursued and waited for the day I'd buy a Smith-Corona to write with. The hobby is gradually becoming an obsession with newer members coming in :)
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia Splendid 33 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia Splendid 33 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
