After a month or so, I finally got this lovely typer working again.
I ended up replacing a rotted rubber spacer with a stack of two pennies (See picture gallery).
This Olympia has a really neat bold typeface, and an extra long carriage that makes the already heavy shift even worse.

Given away to a friend as a birthday gift. The touch was amazingly light, it was like typing on air, but that extra heavy shift made it unusable to me. I'll be looking out for one with a normal carriage now.
