Description:
Never imagined I'd get a Hermes Baby locally, and considering the demand worldwide, it didn't seem probable to get it anywhere. But nope, the local typewriter repair shop had it in good working condition, stashed away somewhere. Another customer was seeking it but the owner forgot that he had it. He opened up the case and we both stared in shock at the machine. Finders Keepers!
The "Rs" (rupees) key was very surprising to see instead of another currency key since the machine is manufactured in Switzerland. Not sure if this was customized for an Indian customer.
Needs a few cosmetic fixes. I might try the nail paint trick.
Note: Serial number can be found on the carriage rail on the right side.

I'm a young(er) typewriter nut who doggedly pursued and waited for the day I'd buy a Smith-Corona to write with. The hobby is gradually becoming an obsession with newer members coming in :)
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Baby on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Baby By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
