Description:
I had always heard that the Hermes 2000 line had a significantly different feel from the 3000, but was surprised by just how marked a difference that actually is until acquiring this machine. Whereas the 3000 lives up to its reputation as having a soft touch, the 2000 has a lot of snap - almost more like an Olympia SM. I would owe a lot of that, however, to the design being largely three decades old by the time of this particular machine's manufacture, so while its aesthetics very much reflect Hermes' 1960s livery, mechanically, it is still very much a product of the 1930s.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes 2000 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes 2000 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
