Description:
I could not find the serial number of this machine. These were built between 1953 and 1960. The touch is very pleasant, light, comfortable. This model has often an electric carriage, but mine hasn't. As often on Japys, you can press a special key and undo jammed type-bars. Also an automatic paper feeder, very useful. A nice but heavy machine (18kg!).

I am a french writer. I type all my drafts on my typewriters. I own about twenty of them, mainly portable ones, from 1910 to 1981 models, in working condition. I have a Facebook typewriter page: "Pour un usage moderne de la machine à écrire" : https://www.facebook.com/machineaecrirecontemporaine/?skip_nax_wizard=true
See you soon on my page!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Japy S18 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Japy Serial Number page and the Japy S18 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
