Description:
Normally I wouldn't include typewriter sightings from movies in my gallery, but I just couldn't let this one go without a mention:
In the award winning WW2 film "Saving Private Ryan," there's a scene set in a typing pool that's sending out death notifications after D-Day. One of the first typewriters you see in the shot - albeit briefly - is a second-generation, mid-1950's Hermes Ambassador. I kid you not. I spotted it immediately because I own two mid-60s Ambassadors.
It's not that hard to see, either. When my wife came home I replayed the scene in slow motion and she said, "Hey! Isn't that a Hermes Ambassador?"
Case closed.
Enjoy! :)

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Ambassador on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Ambassador By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
