1959 Imperial 66 Serial # 6E81527 1959 Imperial 66 typewriter, Serial # 6E81527 William OLLIVIER's 1959 Imperial 66 typewriter. 2024-12-01 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of William OLLIVIER: 1959 Imperial 66 Serial # 6E81527 A green giant. Got a very good deal for it on eBay, but did have to go pick it up, as it was collection only.
As most standards, it's heavy and bulky, but very nicely engineered.
My favourite part is the 2 step no tool required carriage removal, and segment/keyboard removal.

Software engineer by day, and typewriter newbie by night.
I got my first typewriter when I was a child, one of the kid's plastic ones, but was not satisfied.
I moved on the first real one, a portable Silver-Reed Silverette S, which I still own today, and use once in a while.
