Description:
Purchased in Northern Virginia via craigslist for $50. This machine has a really nice typeface and would be great to type on except it has a skipping problem. I can sometimes type without it being so bad, sometimes even for a page with just one or two skips, but other times it skips every sentence or worse.
Made some adjustments per a recommendation on Richard's blog.
Sold.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes 2000 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes 2000 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
