Description:
Wasn't sure of the model or even brand at first as it has no badges on it at all aside from "Made in Czechoslovakia"
I really like this little machine. It's got a fantastic typing feel, just a good solid bare-bones machine without any fancy extras. One of my go-to letter writing machines. The shift lock is finnicky to adjust. Haven't nailed it yet, but I don't use the shift lock all that much anyway so it's not an issue for me so long as the regular shift is aligned right.

I'm a graphic designer and printer by trade, living just outside of Newcastle, Australia but I grew up on a sheep farm in central New South Wales. Just down here tinkering with typewriters, drawing pictures, growing veggies in the back garden and hanging out with my fiance and our three cats.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Consul Silent on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Consul Serial Number page and the Consul Silent By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
