Description:
This Sears Tower is the President model, a rebranded Smith-Corona Super 5 body. I wonder what they were thinking about keeping a light-tan wrinkle paint finish clean; I donāt think much of it now. It does work well if you forgive the very faint bell. (I was going to say, ā... if you ignore the very faint bellā, but that is all too easy.) Oh, yes, it came with that nice S-C stamped steel case in faux tweed.

While I find all of mankind's inventions interesting, I am most enchanted by the human-scale arts and devices, the ones that can be created (and repaired) in a home workshop or studio; the ones that can be understood by looking at them; the ones that do something useful or stir admiration. Typewriters work for me.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Tower President on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Tower Serial Number page and the Tower President By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
