Description:
Love the snappy touch and segment (basket) shift. Not too keen on the lack of a paper support and the noisy carriage. It's interesting that Torpedo were building their portables with a segment shift at a time when Olympia was still building its portable SM2/3/4s with a carriage shift. When I bought this machine, it was listed as Torpedo "TW." I presume this was the name the 20 went by in Germany (perhaps other European markets as well?).
UPDATE: Sold February 2022

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Torpedo 20 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Torpedo Serial Number page and the Torpedo 20 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
