1958 Olympia SM3 Serial # 1289086 1958 Olympia SM3 typewriter, Serial # 1289086 Paul Zagaeski's 1958 Olympia SM3 typewriter. 2026-02-28 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Paul Zagaeski: 1958 Olympia SM3 Serial # 1289086 This QWERTZ key layout machine came to me by way of a college friend who acquired it from a German relative. The years have been kind to this machine. It has been carefully stored and maintained, and is in like-new condition. There is no "zero" key, and the right-most key in the upper row, the "accent" key, uniquely does not move the carriage forward when struck. Very unusual in my experience. Unfortunately this typewriter came to me without a case. Since I rarely type in German and since I have two SM3 in my collection already, I've let this item go on to a new owner.
