Description:
We found this in a small antique store in Florence, Oregon. It was tucked away in a closed case, but I recognized it as an Olympia case. Peeking inside we discovered that it had a script typeface which we have been wanting. Overall, it was in good shape, but the carriage return was not smooth and it seemed to get hung up. We were able to get the price reduced due to this. Thankfully, it was an easy fix. Like many SM3s the rubber bushings on the bottom had compressed over time. We replace these, cleaned it up a bit and now it works well. Research showed that it has the Olympia Script No. 75 typeface. The case included the key and is also in decent shape, but the metal parts including the latch have some rust.

I recently started collecting typewriters after rediscovering my love for them at an event. I am fortunate to live in an area with a small group of people who appreciate typewriters. We meet bimonthly and share recent finds and host type-ins to let others in our area discover the joy of typewriters.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
