Description:
Full disclosure here: Yes, I know that the "Baby" is identical to the "Rocket", which we already have one of... HOWEVER. The reason I had to have this one, with the "Baby" badge on the corner, is because it is the exact make and model of the typewriter that Dickie Greenleaf used in Patricia Highsmith's novel "The Talented Mr. Ripley", AND FURTHER MORE it was used in the exquisitely obsession-forming Netflix series "Ripley". I am so in love with that series, I have watched it fourteen times (so far) and have bought and read all of Patricia Highsmith's Ripley books, as well. If something is worth doing, it's worth overdoing. Love this little machine, and it is a very welcome addition to our sub-collection of Hermes typewriters!

Started with one typewriter in our small cottage, and ended up with over twenty! Transformed a closet into a gothic "typewriterbrary" and it makes a great centerpiece for the house, and an easy way to access all the typewriters for writing letters, journaling, and whatnot, as well as keeping them dust-free in the betweentimes.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Baby on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Baby By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
