Description:
Everest was Olivetti's most important competitor in Italy as early as the 1930s and until Olivetti acquired the brand in 1962. The K2 model was produced from 1951 to 1959 in light brown and for three more years in two-tone light grey/dark grey. This specimen , a "DeLuxe" version, dates from 1958 and features an uncommon and beautiful white keyboard. Unlike Olivetti, Everest typewriters were equipped with the "1" key.

I have been an Italian typewriter collector for many many years. At that time, I loved very old typewriters from late 1800s to early 1900s. After a break of a few years I returned to collect typewriters but no longer so old, I prefer now the design of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Yes, I am an affectionate collector of Olivetti, of course, but I'm attracted to all the other brands from that period, not just Italian.
