Description:
Pica Imperial typeface. Fun machine to use. Found two odd conical bits on the frame that look like the lost their nuts and fit into corresponding depressions in the body. Not sure why they are there. Very similar in feel to my Adler Primus. It sounded a bit clattery, and the noise was coming from the universal bar, so I added some double stick tape and cork/rubber, and it quieted it down. I added a staple link to the universal bar spring to lighten the touch even more than it already is. Can't take it too far or the ribbon vibrator stays in the up position. I adjusted the slack out of the keys and had to form the shift lever a bit to lower it as well. There is room with the body of this machine to do this unlike with Silent Supers. I adjusted the universal bar bumpers to shorten the throw and lighten the impression a little bit. Too bad it's missing its Perfekt logo. Purchased 8/22 for $180. More than I want to pay for a typewriter, but I really like it. I wouldn't have paid that for a machine with regular pica typeface.
