Description:
This beauty has US keyboard, it's not easy to find 50s S.C. typewriters in Italy, at the time there was a big competitor named Olivetti.......from my point of view, while being an Italian Olivetti fan, the S.C. Silent, Sterling and Clipper series were superior to the contemporary Studio 44 Olivetti. This specimen is well preserved, it works well and is one of the favorite machines in my collection.

I have been an Italian typewriter collector for many many years. At that time, I loved very old typewriters from late 1800s to early 1900s. After a break of a few years I returned to collect typewriters but no longer so old, I prefer now the design of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Yes, I am an affectionate collector of Olivetti, of course, but I'm attracted to all the other brands from that period, not just Italian.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Silent Super on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Silent Super By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
