Description:
I was beyond stoked to gift this to a cherished friend and fellow teacher who was in search of a compact portable with a hard, faux leather case. Needless to say, I nailed it... find me a case sharper than that, not to mention that striking Halberg green (more on that below).
I was surprised to learn that these particular Royalite models weren’t made in the USA, like many of the brand’s most famous typewriters, but in Holland. My friend, who’s a big comic nerd, was stoked to find out the origin story on his new machine, which evolved from the Halberg Traveler. When Royal did some corporate consolidating in the 50s, they bought out the Dutch manufacturer and started producing these gorgeous, re-branded Royalites out of the old Halberg factory.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal Royalite on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal Royalite By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
