Description:
Bought it for 5€ from my favorite Dawdler in poor
condition. The Foam at the inside of all Sheet-
Metal was on the way to disintegrate and i change to thick black Felt, like it is used on her little
Sister, the SM3.
Perhaps the best German Typewriter after the War.
Very precise and very heavy, about 17kg!
I nearly got a Lumbago when i carry it out of the
Shelve at the shop.
The Sledge is easily removable, never see this feature on any other Typewriter.
Wide Sledge for DIN A3, Paperholder is missing,
but I am not shure, if it was originally mounted, because the support isn't damaged, and there are no holes for the little axles.

Collector of machines from 1910's to 1960's.
Mostly german typewriters.
The design is always important for me, first it must be nice,
than look if it writes well or not.
I Always get a cheap purchase of poor condition-maschines,
so i have to clean, oil, polish and repair.
Try to save the present condition, no Restauration to new-condition.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SG1 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SG1 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
