Bought this just so I could try out a Hermes. The price was right. It just needed a good cleaning.
The type feel is quick , the keys cup my fingertips. The sound is LOUD, clanky--hard platen and maybe something else going on.

Typewriter user since childhood--"Endofthehall Press" (produced a magazine for my big sister, I did) and avid hunter for many years. Partial to portables/ultraportables, but do love my standard models too. I use my typewriters for letters, recipes, lists, stories, pondering, and in art/fabric creations.
