1956 Smith Corona Skyriter Serial # 3Y238958 1956 Smith Corona Skyriter typewriter, Serial # 3Y238958 Kenneth Kruschka's 1956 Smith Corona Skyriter typewriter. 2019-06-24 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Kenneth Kruschka: 1956 Smith Corona Skyriter Serial # 3Y238958 A shooter at my family's club (Wild Wings Sportsman's Club) sent my Dad home with this typewriter for me this typewriter a few weeks ago. The old owner's name is written in gold on the case, which I think was the father of who gave me the typewriter. The top cover didn't align correctly, Case had 66 years of gunk on it, Carriage return arm had issues, LH ribbon reverse arm was bad, Bell ringer arm was WAY BENT (replaced it), One of the ribbon spools was broken, and the typewriter was filthy. After devoting a night off work to fixing the typewriter, it's running like--maybe even better than-- new!!

After finding a Smith-Corona Coronet 12 at a curb-side (in Winter while walking the dog) I carried it home; after it thawed out and started coming back to life I was hooked. My interest in this hobby lead to taking two parts typewriters to create one good unit. This typewriter aliment is (pretty much) in-curable!
