1956 Smith Corona Silent Super Serial # 540069X 1956 Smith Corona Silent Super typewriter, Serial # 540069X Stacy Jones's 1956 Smith Corona Silent Super typewriter. 2022-03-18 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Stacy Jones: 1956 Smith Corona Silent Super Serial # 540069X Purchased from the grand-daughter of the original owner. This Alpine Blue Smith Corona Silent Super was used to write letters to family and friends every day until the original owner passed away in 2004. I was told that she even took it with her when she went into assisted living. There was a lot of love for this machine and I could feel it when her grand-daughter carefully handed me the typewriter case after showing me each of the documents it came with and its accessories and told me of her memories of her grandmother sitting in front of this typewriter and teaching her to type on it when she was young. It features standard pica typeface and was serviced in 2000 by one of the last remaining locally owned and operated typewriter shops in my area. It has a relatively new platen and feet and the previous owner clearly loved this machine and took good care of it for a number of years. The paint still has a slight showroom sparkle to it.

I’ve been collecting typewriters since 2019. I started with a Remington 5 Streamliner that I found in a local junk shop and from there, my love for these machines grew and grew. I now have far too many typewriters in my collection, assuming that you think there is such a thing.
