Description:
Was very happy to win the auction of this Siemag Portable, of which there is no other information to be found than the Gallery from Aaron Klamp here on TWDB. Today it arrived.
Have to clean it and make better pictures and a type specimen.
Edit september 2023: added the pictures I promised.
This machine is very loud, like drumming on a bucket. Probably because of the bakelite-like material that was used for construction, also the painted parts.
Too loud to use, so it moved on

1960. Forestry engineer and watchmaker by education. Working as IT guy (database and web) in the national office of an international NGO in Amsterdam.
Have always liked machines, mechanics and apparatus. Always fixing things.
Got infected with the typewriter virus in 2012 and discovered there is a lot on offer here in the Netherlands for reasonable prices. Storage space is an issue :-)
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Siemag Portable on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Siemag Serial Number page and the Siemag Portable By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
